About —
I am a designer, writer and educator concerned with craft and its relationship to the built environment. My role as Art Director at Colony, an independent design gallery, and Colony Consult, a strategy firm offering cross-disciplinary creative direction for design studios, architecture firms and global manufacturers, allows me constant insight into this relationship. After a near decade spent building Colony into a celebrated platform for contemporary furniture design, I believe that the filling of space is not just a critical factor of human experience but a productive lens through which we can view the future of the built environment.
In 2022, I helped launch and co-direct the ongoing Colony Residency, an eight-month incubator program granting subsidized studio rent, an inaugural exhibition and gallery representation to a selected pool of nascent design studios. Outside of my work at Colony, I write Design in Verse, a newsletter on the dialogue between literature and design, and teach within the School of Constructed Environments BFA Product Design at Parsons, The New School.
